Ariela Zycherman

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Ariela Zycherman is the acting division director of the Climate and Societal Interactions Division in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Climate Program Office. At NOAA, she served as a Social Scientist and Program Manager in the Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments Program focusing on collaborative and interdisciplinary science for climate adaptation and has held leadership roles at NOAA, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the U.S. Global Change Research Program. Prior to NOAA, Zycherman served as a National Program Leader at U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture, as the National Coordinator of the USDA Climate Hubs, and as an American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow in the National Science Foundation’s Directorate for Engineering, Division of Chemical, Biological, Energy & Transport Systems. She received her PhD in applied anthropology from Columbia University
