Connor Lewis

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Connor Lewis is an Engagement Specialist for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS). By guiding coastal hazard products with stakeholder feedback, his work ensures that community-level end users are able to improve climate resilience with NOAA's data.

Lewis is passionate about translating complex Earth system science into operational products, so coastal practitioners across the United States can make decisions based on authoritative data and plan for changes in sea level means and extremes. With technical fluency in physical oceanography, atmospheric science, and Geographic Information System, he helps operationalize National Ocean Service water level data on climate timescales. By fostering connectivity across the interagency ecosystem, his goal is to close knowledge gaps between federal and private sector workflows and support Cooperative Observer Program's observational data network.

Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science in atmospheric science (Purdue University) and a Master of Science in geoscience (Mississippi State University). He is also an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist with a track record of forecasting severe weather for major urban corridors and advising emergency decision-makers.
