Duane Poslusny
Wildfire Partners
Duane Poslusny spent most of his career focusing on disaster planning, wildfire mitigation, and land management. He worked as a ranger for the US Forest Service and National Park Service, then shifted to disaster planning with the non-profit organization Team Rubicon, which deploys volunteer disaster response teams. Since 2020, his work has centered around wildfire mitigation by leading operations for Team Rubicon and teaching Community Wildfire Mitigation Best Practices for Coalitions and Collaboratives, which aims to build resilient communities and healthy ecosystems through collaborative conservation. After serving communities in Colorado and across the West before and after disasters, Poslusny is passionate about protecting homes and lives from wildfire. Poslusny has Bachelor of Science degrees in geography and natural resource recreation from the University of Utah.
For fun, Poslusny explores the mountains and backcountry skis with his family.
