Florian Meissner

Florian Meissner is professor of digital publishing at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, specializing in risk and crisis communication with a focus on natural hazards and technological risks. Since 2024, he has chaired the European Union-funded research network AlertHub, which brings together 191 researchers from 47 countries to improve disaster warning communication for extreme weather events. He is president-elect of the International Crisis and Risk Communication Association and serves on the editorial board of the journal Crisis and Risk Communication (Taylor and Francis).
