Guadalupe Guevara is a second year PhD student in sociology at Louisiana State University. She earned a double major in sociology and global studies from the University of Delaware, with concentrations in Emergency and Environmental Management and the Environment. Her research focuses on disaster risk communication among Hispanic populations living in coastal areas, with particular interests in social vulnerability, disaster preparedness, and community resilience. Guevara’s work examines how structural inequalities shape access to disaster communication and recovery resources for marginalized communities. Her research is informed by both academic and community-based experiences in disaster preparedness and recovery.
