Hannah Christen

Hannah Christen is the preparedness manager for the American Red Cross Northwest Region, serving communities across Washington and Northern Idaho. With more than seven years of experience in disaster response and preparedness, she specializes in wildfire resilience, community preparedness, volunteer engagement, and risk reduction education.

Christen leads community-based wildfire preparedness programs that help residents understand their risk and take practical steps to better protect their homes and families. Through partnerships with fire departments, emergency managers, community organizations, and volunteers, she has helped expand wildfire preparedness efforts in communities across Washington State, educating thousands of residents on topics such as defensible space, ember awareness, evacuation readiness, and household preparedness.

Prior to her current role, Christen supported disaster response operations for communities affected by wildfires, floods, severe weather, and other emergencies. Her experience across both preparedness and response provides a unique perspective on how communities can build resilience before disasters occur.
