B. Kainoa Azama is a youth trailblazer who has made a global impact through his tireless efforts in community activation. A systems thinker he is strengthened by his cultural roots and ability to weave worldviews to cultivate regenerative social and environmental ecosystems. Azama currently leads projects in convergent science, disaster preparedness, regenerative agriculture, cross-cultural facilitation, and climate resilience bridging wisdom with a long-term commitment to change as a youth. He was the former State President of the Future Farmers of America Hawaiʻi State Association, President of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaiʻi, Chair of the Honolulu Youth Commission, Director for the Koʻolaupoko Hawaiian Civic Club, Native Youth Community Adaptation Leadership Congress Trainer for Fresh Tracks, Cultural Trainer for United Nations accredited Heirs to Our Oceans, and Member of the first-ever State Department Indigenous Youth Cohort. These experiences have enabled him to serve and work in partnership with Pacific governments and indigenous communities across the world, where he serves island Earth as a; Steersperson of the intergovernmental Pacific Risk Management ʻOhana Indigenous Knowledge and Environment Hui; The National Science Foundation Rising Voices Changing Coast Hubʻs Hawaiʻi Hub Coordinator; and the Associate Director of the Olohana Foundation. An active youth leader, Azama is a recipient of well-respected awards, such as Skoll Fellow – Skoll Foundation, the Star of Oceania – Global Moana Youth Leadership Award, United National Indian Tribal Youth – Earth Ambassador, and the Kama Aliʻi Outstanding Young Hawaiian Civic Club Member award – Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs.
