Karl Kim

Karl Kim is professor of urban and regional planning and director of the Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance program at the University of Hawaii. He serves as Executive Director of the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (ndptc.hawaii.edu), a congressionally authorized, Federal Emergency Management Agency-funded center that develops and delivers training courses for emergency managers, first responders and community leaders. He studies cities and the movement of people, goods, services and ideas. He is Editor of Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives. https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/transportation-research-interdisciplinary-perspectives and is currently editing a book series on Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience (Routledge).
