Najiba Rashid is a PhD Candidate in Geography and Geospatial Science at Oregon State University. As a Graduate Research Assistant at the Cascadia Copes Research Hub, Rashid's research focuses on disaster resilience and community recovery. She conducts mixed-methods research, where she uses qualitative and quantitative methods to conduct interviews and surveys. Her dissertation focuses on disaster debris management following Hurricanes Helene and Milton (2024) in Florida and Oregon, Washington Coast. Her technical expertise spans advanced geospatial analysis and remote sensing, utilizing tools such as Google Earth Engine, Python, and ArcGIS Pro to conduct spatial-temporal analyses. Beyond her research, she is actively engaged with Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure. In her free time, she loves to read and hike.
