Nicholas Hoskins
Texas A&M University
Nicholas “Nick” Hoskins leads the Disaster Data Reconnaissance Center (DDRC), part of the Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas and a service center at Texas Agricultural & Mechanical University. His work focuses on using drones, remote sensing, and geospatial tools to collect and deliver practical disaster data. Through DDRC, Hoskins helps turn field observations into usable information for disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience planning.
DDRC works closely with state partners to support the Texas Disaster Information System and Disaster Artificial Intelligence initiatives. In this role, Hoskins is especially interested in how disaster data can be gathered more consistently, shared more clearly, and translated into products that remain useful beyond a single event or project.
Outside of work, Hoskins enjoys birdwatching, kayaking, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
