He has contributed to the development of Federal Emergency Management Agency-compliant hazard mitigation plans and resilience improvement plans, provided flood risk guidance to local communities, and supported disaster planning and post-disaster recovery efforts across the country. His work includes researching a range of natural hazards and their regional impacts to help communities better understand and address their risks, with a focus on coastal and flood-related hazards.
