Howard University
Rodolfo Hernandez Perez is a social scientist dedicated to understanding the intersection of disaster studies and public participation in science. His research has explored multiple socio-environmental governance styles across international contexts, including the United States, China, and Colombia.
Hernandez Perez is currently focused on convergence research that protects vulnerable communities from natural hazards such as tornadoes and wildfires. At Howard University (NCAS-M), he plays a dual role: co-leading funded research on hazardous weather communication and mentoring future scientists to think critically about the social dimensions of their technical research. His goal is to ensure that weather science translates effectively into life-saving public action.
