Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains

Sandra Katz, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has experience as a healthcare chaplain and as an executive director of a non-profit. She received board certification through Neshama: Association of Professional Chaplains and Association of Professional Chaplains. A past President of National Association of Jewish Chaplain, she has a 21-year history of service to the profession on the board of directors. Currently, she serves as Rabbi of Congregation Etz Chaim in Fairport, New York. She holds undergraduate degrees in computer science and music, master’s degrees in human relations and Hebrew literature, experience in the US Navy Chaplain Candidate program during graduate school, ordination from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion’s New York campus, and a Doctor of Ministry. Just as some people engage in improvisational comedy, she thinks of her chaplaincy work as improv tragedy.
