Vivi Siegel

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Vivi Siegel is an emergency risk communication team lead at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Siegel has worked as a health communications specialist at CDC since 2005. In that time, she has responded to natural, chemical, and radiological disasters as part of CDC’s Joint Information Center leadership.

Siegel empowers teams to innovate and transform emergency communications to best serve community needs, relying on community input to determine the best ways to reach people and build trust. She advocates for including communicators at the highest levels of strategic decision-making in emergency response, and for working with nontraditional partners to get messages out to the hardest-to-reach audiences
