Gender and Disasters Roundtable

The U.S. Gender and Disaster Resilience Alliance invites all Workshop participants to attend this meeting, which offers the opportunity to network with others interested in gender issues in disaster. This year, discussions will focus on the disaster risk reduction policy and gender in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. The roundtable will begin with a short presentation by Maureen Fordham, a member of the UN-recognized Women’s Major Group, who will talk about her experience advocating for gender at the meeting in Sendai and how the new Framework proposes to advance gender-responsive DRR policy in the next 15 years.
