Warning Messages, New Technologies, and Warning Responses

There is a large literature on warnings and warning responses, but much of what we thought we knew may be changing as a result of new technologies and warning strategies, such as the use of mobile alerts. Panelists will discuss public responses to warnings during the Colorado floods, ways to optimize mobile alert content and warnings for maximum impact, benefits and limitations of mobile alerts, and the role such services play in the stream of risk communication about unfolding disasters.
