Speaker topics should relate to emergency management topics in the context of the conference theme: Honor the Past, Treasure the Present, and Shape the Future. Speakers will be chosen on the quality of their presentation and topic expertise. Submissions should focus on the impacts major U.S. disasters have on vulnerable populations such as the elderly, the home-bound, those living in rural areas, individuals experiencing homelessness, and the poor and uninsured. The Association of State Floodplain Managers Foundation is accepting papers from those planning to attend the Gilbert F. White Flood Policy Forum, to be held March 12-13 in Washington, D.C. An RSVP is required to attend. Papers are used to drive conversation at the forum, which will eventually result in recommendations to increase resilience to urban flooding.
