The International Sociological Association is accepting submissions for potential sessions at its Fourth Forum on Sociology to be held July 14-18, 2020, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Session submissions should be related to the forum theme of Democracy, Environment, Inequalities, and Intersectionality, including how this theme relates to the sociology of disasters. Community GIS and Citizen Science Research Experiences for Undergraduates
University of Central Florida

The University of Central Florida is accepting applications for its National Science Foundation-funded REU program focused on drones and geospatial storytelling, mapping marine debris, and mapping disparities in flood and disaster management. Selected students will travel to Orlando, Florida and Belize during the summer of 2019 to collaborate with researchers in one of the three areas. The Federal Emergency Management Agency Higher Education Program is now accepting submissions for presentation at its Emergency Management Higher Education Symposium to be held June 3-6 in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Submissions should align with the symposium theme of Diversity, Inclusion, and Unity of Effort and fall into one of three tracks: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Research Methodology and Integration, and Policy and Administration of EM programs. National Advisory Council
Federal Emergency Management Agency

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is accepting applications to fill open seats on its National Advisory Council. The council advises the FEMA administrator on all aspects of emergency management. Twelve seats are currently available, including those that represent access to functional needs, elected and non-elected officials at several levels of government, emergency medicine, public health, and standards setting.
