The Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals is accepting presentations for the its Annual Conference to be held November 7-9 in Dallas, Texas. Topics can include business continuity, communication, exercise design, leadership in disasters, and lessons learned. Sessions will be divided into categories based on length. The University of Montreal is accepting applications for its i-Rec international student competition. Submissions that explore displacement, settlement in developing countries, urban projects, intervention and organizational design, or similar topics are welcome. First-prize winners receive $1,100. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is accepting application for students to sit on its Youth Preparedness Council. Council member serve as community leaders who advocate for disaster preparedness and resilience in their communities. Students in grades 8-11 can learn more and submit an application on the council’s website.
