The Natural Hazards Center is pleased to announce that registration for our 42nd Natural Hazard Workshop is now open. The Workshop will be held July 9-12 in Broomfield Colorado.

The theme of this year’s Workshop is Knowledge to Action: Reducing Hazards Losses and Promoting Disaster Resilience, where we’ll address how we can best translate our expert knowledge into action—in homes, in businesses, in classrooms, and in communities. To do this, we’ve planned sessions and special events that cover a broad range of hazards topics. Check out the 2017 program on our website—there’s something for everyone.

New this year, we’re pleased to collaborate with the Association of State Floodplain Managers Foundation to cohost the Larry A. Larson Speaker series, when past Natural Hazards Center Director Dennis Mileti will talk about the role of community in resilience and floodplain management. We’ll also be offering a tour of Wildfire, Flood, and Mitigation Tour and hosting our first Meet the Author event.

We hope you’ll join us for these important conversations and fun events. If you haven’t received your email to register for the Workshop, it might be that we need you to update your information or that we don’t have you on our Workshop email list. Please let us know if you’d like to be added.
