Angela Kronenburg García holds a PhD from Wageningen University (2015) and a degree in cultural anthropology from Leiden University. Her research has focused on land-use change, land and forest tenure, natural-resource conflict, political leadership, investment frontiers and mining-induced resettlement. Her geographical expertise includes the drylands of Kenya and Mozambique. Her work lies at the intersection of political ecology and the anthropology of the future. At the University of Padua (Italy) she was involved in a research project on “wetlands in drylands”. She currently holds an FNRS research fellowship at the UCLouvain in Belgium.
