Aojie Ju is a political science doctoral student at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. As a Wuhan native, Ju is interested in the outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent quarantine and lockdown. He conducted online surveys and remote interviews in 2020 for the study Feeding Families in COVID-19-Quarantined Wuhan: Intersectional Adaptations to a Disaster. Ju will examine ethnic/racial identities and post-communist politics for his doctorate.
