Brent Woodworth is the chairman and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Emergency Preparedness Foundation, working with government, business, faith-based, academic, and community leaders to develop and implement innovative programs focused on disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. He has led crisis management teams responding to over 70 events in 49 countries, advising and negotiating with government and military leaders. Brent has responded to earthquakes, fires, tsunamis, floods, volcanic eruptions, wind events, acts of terrorism, civil unrest, and conflict zones. 

As the chairman of the Multihazard Mitigation Council, Woodworth led the research and development of the U.S. Congressional study on the benefits of government and community investment in structural and non-structural mitigation. He has worked closely with multiple local and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of State. Woodworth has testified to Congress as a subject matter expert and participated with the National Academy of Sciences on multiple mitigation projects. In 2023, Woodworth successfully launched a groundbreaking partnership with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Los Angeles County Fire Department to implement a Community Brigade Pilot program across seven high-risk wildfire exposure communities.
