Brian Keegan is an assistant professor in the Department of Information Science. He is a computational social scientist drawing on theories and methods in organizational studies and social computing to analyze how online collaborations respond to bursts of activity. Brian received his PhD in media, technology, and society from Northwestern University where his dissertation examined how Wikipedia editors self-organize to write about breaking news events. He completed post-doctoral fellowships at Northeastern University and the Harvard Business School exploring political communication and online learning communities.
