Casierra Cruz is a native CHamoru who was born and raised in Guahan, Mariana Islands. She was a first-generation college student who earned her bachelor’s degree in health science with a concentration in public health from the University of Guam and her master’s degree in community-oriented public health practice from the University of Washington. Cruz has several years of experience in community-based participatory research, where she centers on community voices, relationships, and cultural values in health promotion and healing. Currently, she is an Instructor in the School of Health at the University of Guam and enjoys reading, running, and fishing.
