Emma Sun
Envision Utah Youth Council
Emma Sun is a sophomore at the Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. She is co-founder and co-chair of the Envision Utah Youth Council, which helped recruit more than 17,000 parents and students to participate in an online survey about Utah’s future—including issues of disaster resilience. In recognition of her work, Emma was awarded a Common Good Award by Utah Governor Gary Herbert. In addition to her public service work, Emma is very interested in science and behavioral science research. She recently won second place in behavioral science at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in Los Angeles for a project about “compassion fade.” Emma also plays the violin, fences, and rows crew.
