Isaiah Higgs

Isaiah Higgs is master's student at East Carolina University, working on receiving a degree in geography with a certificate in urban planning. Currently his focus is around social vulnerable communities affected by natural disasters such as flooding, but he also has an interest in Social justice. Higgs has created a short film documenting peoples experiences towards Hurricane Floyd in 1999 and Hurricane Mathew in 2016. He is also part of the National Science Foundation Minority Scholars from Under-Represented Groups in Engineering and Social Sciences (NSF Minority SURGE). Within this interdisciplinary program Higgs provides his knowledge on urban planning and human geography to help analysis situations.
