Julia Goolsby is a research associate with the Institute of Behavioral Science and the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her work seeks to address on-the-ground environmental issues by examining them through a social lens. Her research interests include the production of actionable science, individual and collective decision-making, risk communication, climate emotions, and the human dimensions of transformational ecological change. Goolsby holds an MA in environmental communication and a BS in earth systems, both from Stanford University. In fall 2024, she will begin a PhD program in communication at Cornell University.
