Kayla Woods is a Spring 2018 intern at the Natural Hazards Center and a senior studying geography and environmental studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is interested in emergency management planning for hazardous events. Woods also works at the National Snow and Ice Data Center.

Woods has done research on Arctic hazards such as glacial lake outburst floods impacting communities and homes, as well as other glaciology and cartography research. She is the author of several research papers examining Arctic community vulnerability and public health concerns related to climate change in the 21st century and has completed several restoration projects following Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy.
