Kenji Koshiyama is a professor of societal safety science at Kansai University in Japan. He graduated from Kobe University with a bachelor's in 1995, master's in 1997, and PhD in engineering in 2001. His research focuses on urban disaster safety, recovery plans, and crisis management. He has experience in researching disaster cases, including Japan, Mexico, China, and Turkey. His current research deals with housing site locations, housing recovery processes, public housing provision after disaster, urban reconstruction from disaster, and safety planning for disaster reduction.
