Leslie Maas Cortes

Leslie Maas-Cortes is the director of Puerto Rico's Hurricane Response Hub and Proyecto Agua Limpia, programs at the Science, Technology and Research Trust. The Hub provides technical assistance and capacity for disaster preparedness. Key projects include: certification of death, KP4radio infrastructure, ECHOTrainings, CASPER-COVID19 Seroprevalence, and online academy. Proyecto Agua Limpia brings safe drinking water to remote communities. Maas served as Assistant Director Injury Control Center at Medical College Wisconsin (1999-2005). Maas-Cortes completed her graduate work in international health and nutrition at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, focused on anthropometric data collection and intervention development to reduce diabetes in Marshall Islands.
