Li Chen

Li Chen is an associate professor of media communication in the Department of Communication at West Texas A&M University. She received her PhD from the University of Iowa in 2016. Her research centers on health communication. She uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to examine the impact of health misinformation on young adults, evaluate the effects of various kinds of health messages on the target audience segments’ health beliefs and behavioral intentions, study social media narratives surrounding controversial health issues in the global context, and explore the communication barriers that vulnerable groups face in health crises.
