Mary Hayden
Mary Hayden is a Research Professor at National Institute for Human Resilience, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dr. Hayden's primary research emphasis is on the human behavioral component of climate-sensitive health and disease issues. Her current work includes a focus on the human behavioral role in the transmission dynamics of the virus vector, Aedes aegypti, improving health outcomes related to human plague in East Africa through enhanced surveillance, and assessing current adaptive capacity and future societal resilience to extreme heat in North America. She has also focused recently on advancing women’s roles in the control of vector-borne diseases such as malaria through field studies in Indonesia and Kenya.
