Mila Turner is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Florida A&M University. She received her PhD in sociology from Howard University with a concentration in social inequality and a research focus on environmental justice. As a broadly trained environmental sociologist, her research and teaching experience are in diverse areas, including how social inequalities intersect with environmental harms, natural disasters, and COVID-19. Turner centers her analyses within broader conversations about racial inequality and community. Turner, an agent of social change, is also a member of regional and national professional associations.
