Omur Damla Kuru
Omur Damla Kuru is a second-year PhD student in the public affairs program at the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Florida International University (FIU). Kuru holds an undergraduate degree in city and regional planning from as well as a master’s degree in urban design from the Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey. Her research interests relate to environmental sustainability, emergency management, and public participation. Kuru is currently working as a research assistant for N. Emel Ganapati at FIU. In her doctoral dissertation, Kuru plans to examine long-term environmental risks associated with climate change and sea-level rise and how public sector organizations and communities respond to these risks in post-disaster contexts.
