Ruggiero Lovreglio

Ruggiero Lovreglio (known as Rino) is the Social, Behavioral & Economic Sciences associate director of research and senior lecturer at Massey University, where he teaches digital construction (BIM, VR, AR, and 3D scanning). His expertise is in human behaviour in disasters, evacuation modelling/simulation, and pedestrian dynamics. He has been investigating human behaviour in several disasters such as building fires, earthquakes, and wildfires. Lovreglio's research uses new technologies such as virtual and augmented reality to investigate behaviours and training people. He is an associate editor for Safety Science and a member of the Fire Technology and Fire Safety Journal editorial board.
