Samantha Montano

Samantha Montano is an assistant professor in the emergency management program at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. She has a doctorate in emergency management from North Dakota State University. In addition to research on various emergency management issues, she advocates for the dissemination of emergency management research findings to practice and the public. Montano has been published in the Washington Post, Teen Vogue, City Lab, and Vox, among others. In addition, she is the author of Disasterology: Dispatches From The Frontlines of The Climate Crisis.
