Savin Ven Johnson

Savin Ven Johnson is the acting senior advisor for FEMA's National Preparedness Directorate. In this role, Ven Johnson provides advice and support to the acting assistant administrator, FEMA senior leadership, and directorate program offices. Ven Johnson joined FEMA in 2014, working on multiple national preparedness efforts and engaging with a range of stakeholders, including community organizations, nonprofits, and public sector partners. Prior to FEMA, Ven Johnson worked for nongovernmental organizations based in Cambodia and Laos. She holds a master's in environmental economics from Hiroshima University, a master's in global policy studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and bachelor's in international development from the University of St. Thomas.
