Simran Chowdhari is an undergraduate research assistant at the Natural Hazards Center with funding support from the Institute of Behavioral Science UREDI (Undergraduate Research for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Program. She works closely with Lori Peek on a study of child deaths due to COVID-19 and assists with research on earthquake early warning systems and schools in the western U.S. Chowdhari is majoring in neuroscience and minoring in English at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She aspires to become a doctor and is interested in taking a sociological approach to public health and patient care.
