Skye Niles

Skye Niles is a PhD student in the department of sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder. Niles received a Bachelor of Arts in social welfare from the University of California Berkeley and has multiple years of experience working in a variety of healthcare organizations. Niles is passionate about social, as well as ecological justice, and is interested in how stereotypes, values, and social hierarchies influence disaster vulnerability and response. Further, the intersections of health, how neoliberal policies impact inequality in disasters, and the rethinking of divisions between nature and society are all areas of Nile's research interests as well.
