Sylvia Martínez-Mejias

Sylvia Martinez-Mejias is a clinical psychologist and an associate professor at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras. She specializes in attachment theory throughout the life cycle. Her research and treatment projects focus on early childhood and parent-child bonding. She also works with early intervention, special needs, and the impact of emotions in the school environment. Martínez has collaborated with other researchers, studying the impact of natural events on children's academic performance. She has also published papers from her research and clinical work, and has written chapters in published books.
