Yan Wang

Yan Wang is an assistant professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Florida (UF). She is also the founding faculty of the Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience and directs Urban Agility and Resilience Laboratory at UF. Wang received her PhD in civil engineering at Virginia Tech in 2018. Her research concerns resilient, smart, and safe built environments. She develops AI-based techniques to detect crises, assess damage, and studies information and human behavioral interactions under extreme events for effective crisis and risk communication.
