Yanu Prasetyo

Yanu Prasetyo is a PhD candidate studying rural sociology at the University of Missouri (MU). His research focuses on poverty, food insecurity, and community sustainability. In his dissertation, he develops a rural vulnerability framework to analyze Walmart closures' socioeconomic impact in rural Missouri. Prasetyo is a researcher at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences and experienced evaluating community-based micro-hydropower programs in Indonesia. He published an article on a bibliometric analysis of environmental and resources sociology (2019) with his Adviser, Hua Qin, in the Journal of Society and Natural Resources. Prasetyo received the MU International Engagement Award for Outstanding Student Contribution (2020).
