Compendium of Research on Social and Economic Impacts of Marine Oil Spills
This link provides access to the Compendium of Research on Social and Economic Impacts of Marine Oil Spills* (Ritchie, Gill, and Rezek 2005). The contents of the compendium are derived from a comprehensive, cross-national review of marine oil spill research conducted between October 2003 and November 2004. Based on this review, the compendium provides:

- A search engine designed to assist in identifying and locating information on various dimensions of social and economic impacts of marine oil spills
- A comprehensive bibliography of research on social and economic impacts of marine oil spills, including more than 160 annotations
- A marine oil spill photo gallery
This compendium also incorporates:
- An overview of methodologies for assessing economic costs of oil marine spills
- An overview of social constructionism
- A case study of the social construction of the 2002 Prestige oil spill in the media, with accompanying references and articles
