Emerging Trends in Child Protection

Twenty-two states now meet the National Commission on Children and Disasters basic standards for protecting children in disasters. The panelists will discuss current and emerging themes related to how these standards are being met. Topics discussed will include community efforts such as protecting children in child care and schools using better mitigation and preparedness efforts. Practical examples of how this is being accomplished at the federal, state, and local levels will also be provided.
