Disasters and Social Vulnerability I

Recent research and policy have increasingly emphasized the need to learn more about disaster resilience and put that knowledge into practice. Major investments have been made in conceptualizing, measuring, and improving resilience. At the same time, however, there is an ongoing need to better understand vulnerable populations and to identify the sources and drivers of disaster vulnerability. This panel will focus on some of those populations and their distinctive needs.
