Indigenous Communities and Disaster Risk: A Climate of Injustice
Tue. 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Centennial F
Voices from around the world are raising the alert about the environmental justice implications of climate change: rising waters, sinking land, and stronger storms that threaten unique cultures and can lead to community relocation as a climate adaptation strategy. This session focuses on advocacy and multi-sectoral collaboration with one such community—the Isle de Jean Charles Band of the Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw in the Louisiana bayous.
