Monique Constance-Huggins
Monique Constance-Huggins is an associate professor and undergraduate program director in the Department of Social Work at Winthrop University. She received her PhD, master's of social work, and master's of public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. Constance-Huggins is a critical race social work scholar, who researches topics on race such as racial disparities, oppression, and ideologies. Her other areas of research include social capital among women, poverty, and community needs assessment. Constance-Huggins has also spent many years providing cultural competence training and assessments to organizations. She teaches courses in research methods, social welfare policy, and working with multicultural populations.
