William Waugh

Georgia State University

William Waugh is professor emeritus in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. He is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Emergency Management and a book series editor for Emerald Publishers. He currently serves on the board of the council for the Accreditation of Emergency Management Education. From 2003-2016, he served on the Emergency Management Accreditation Program Commission, and from 2000-2006, he served on the Commission on Ecosystem Management commission. From 2007-2010, he participated in the U.S. State Department’s Senior Crisis Management Seminar to introduce senior foreign officials to the practice of crisis management. He has also been an associate principal investigator in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center for Natural Disasters at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His current research focuses on interorganizational and intergovernmental collaboration, community resilience, and long-term recovery.
