The Natural Hazards Center is pleased to announce that Director Lori Peek and Research Associate Jennifer Tobin have both been chosen to contribute their knowledge on disasters to this event. Marcie Roth, former director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Office of Disability Integration and Coordination, and John Cooper, Assistant Vice President for Public Partnership and Outreach at Texas A&M University, will also participate.

The webinar, which is the second in a professional development series, will focus on how race, sex, ability, and socioeconomic status can hinder disaster preparedness and recovery. Examples of ways in which disaster professionals can work to reduce inequality will also be featured.

The webinar will be held on October 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. To attend and learn more, please visit the Bill Anderson Fund event page.
